Snow . . . Snow . . . Snow

It's a good thing Cherish at least got to weaving 6 when she did. Who knows when we'll be able to pick up with the 2x2 training again, now that we have 6" of snow and it's supposed to start melting tomorrow. Then you know what that means - MUD! YUCK! I hate mud!

When I reviewed the two sessions from Day 15, my success rate at session 1 was 48% and session 2 was 64%. In the first session we started out with alot of trouble on the 2-5 side. In the first 2 minutes she had 9 consecutive incorrect, but in the last 4 1/2 minutes she only had 5 incorrect. Session 2 seems to follow the same pattern, first 2 1/2 minutes had 6 incorrect and then last 5 minutes only had 3 incorrect. Hmm . . . now I'll have to think about what to do to get her thinking from the beginning.

  1. Where are you located? Here in eastern Colorado we only got about 1 inch of snow, and today has finally warmed up to almost 50 so that is basically gone.
I have the luxury of having indoors and outdoors to train in, but I do want to mix up my locations as the DVD mentions.
I thought you guys were looking good with your 6 poles. I can just hope to get to that point this week, though yesterday was a pretty good session with the two sets of two.

  2. I'm in Illinois, 30 miles across the river from St. Louis, Missouri. It got up to 22 today, but is supposed to be 34-36 this weekend. Lucky you to have indoor access! Sometimes I just have to get creative in finding different locations. But I do live in a rural area with lots of open uncrowded spaces. How old is Rip? And out of who? Cherish will be 3 in March and is out of Smooch x Rimmer. You had nice runs with Skye. Congrats!

  3. Brr, thats a cold part of the country. We're a little northeast of Colorado Springs on 40 acres - and my wife runs an agility business on our property so I always have access to equipment!
Rip is from the Swizzle x Peck litter of Oct '07, so he's just about 15 months. He did a good job today on his 2x2's.
Thanks for the comments on Skye - he's such a daddys boy and anything I want to do, he's game.

  4. Well that would make Cherish Rip's aunt! Cherish and Peck are littermates.
